Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Crumb is developed by ZeroSix Studio. This policy explains what the app does with your information. Short version: your bakes live on your iPhone, and we can’t see them.

What stays on your device

Your starters, bakes, schedules, photos, journal notes and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no copy of that data on our side — we have no way to read it. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand which features get used and to spot crashes. It records events such as which screen was opened, along with device model, iOS version, coarse region and an app-instance identifier. It does not receive your bakes, notes or photos. Google’s policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate receipts and keep track of subscription status; it receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase state — never your name, email or payment details, which Apple does not share with us. RevenueCat’s policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

AI features — Scan and Ask Crumb

When you scan a loaf or ask Crumb a question, that photo or question is sent to our processing service and forwarded to a model provider to generate the answer. It is used only to produce your result, is not used to train models, and is not kept after the request completes. Everything else in the app works without a connection, so if you would rather nothing left the device, simply don’t use these two features.

Permissions

Camera and photo library — only to photograph or pick a picture of your dough or loaf. Photos stay on your device unless you use the AI scan, described above. Notifications— to tell you when it’s time to fold, shape or bake, and when a starter is due a feed. Both are optional and can be turned off in iOS Settings.

Children

Crumb is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your choices

Delete individual bakes and starters in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored locally. For questions, or to ask what we hold about you, email [email protected] — we reply within about two business days.

Changes

We’ll update this page and the date above when things change, and note material changes in the app’s release notes.
